Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) are specially trained community volunteers who advocate for the best interests of children who have experienced abuse or neglect. Appointed by a judge, CASA volunteers learn about each child’s unique circumstances, collaborate with the professionals involved in the case, and provide the court with informed, child-focused recommendations. Their goal is to help ensure every child has a safe, permanent, and nurturing home—and that their voice is heard throughout the court process.
CASA is currently in 34 counties in West Virginia, with Mingo and Logan being the 35th and 36th. You have a unique opportunity to join us in establishing this new project to help the children of Mingo & Logan Counties.
